Arrival at the airport in Delhi, welcome by the Indian tour guide and transfer to the hotel. Delhi is the capital of the largest democracy, where you really need several days to see everything. We will take a city tour with a few stops so that we can show you the contrasts of the big city.
Among other things, we will visit the old town with the large mosque “Jama Masjid” and Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi memorial). The highlight of today would be a bicycle rickshaw ride in the old town. In New Delhi we continue to the 73 m high victory column “Qutab Minar” in the south of Delhi. We also drive past the Indian government district with the parliament buildings and the India Gate. We then visit a Sikh temple.
Today drive towards Mandawa Fort or Alsisar Fort.
After arrival check-in at the hotel. You will spend the night in Mandawa Palace or Alsisar Palace. Both are from the heritage category. (Booking is subject to .
The town of Mandawa and Alsisar, with around 20,000 inhabitants, is located in the Shekawati region, which is known for its many, magnificently painted havelis and the merchants' city residences decorated with stone decorations.
The merchants of this area, called Marwaris, made their profits by trading silk fabrics, silver, precious stones and spices. In the evening, take a stroll through the city and visit painted havelis.
After breakfast drive to Bikaner. In the afternoon you will reach Bikaner. This desert city in the north of the state was founded in 1488 by Roa Bikaji, a descendant of the founder of Jodhpur, Jodhaji. If you visit Junagarh Fort, it is famous for its large number of pavilions, a number of balconies and air windows with various motifs.
In the evening, take a tuk tuk (auto rickshaw) ride through the narrow streets and experience the evening atmosphere of Bikaner. You will visit 500-year-old Jain temples such as Sandeshwar and Bhandeshwar in the ancient city.
Before leaving Bikaner, drive to Deshnok Karni Mata Temple. It is a miracle that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the world. Afterwards drive to Jaisalmer.
The city's location was once favorable for trade; it was founded as early as 1156 as the capital of Bhati Rajputs. In the middle is the 120 m long and 500 m wide Trikuta Rock, on which the city's founder Rawal Jaisal had the fort built.
When you arrive in Jaisalmer and time permits, drive to Bada Bagh. The place is the memorial site of Jaisalmer princely family. You can enjoy wonderful sunsets from it.
In a very narrow lane you will find the most breathtaking of Jaisalmer's beautiful havelis, the Patwon-ki-Haveli. Patwas are the names of the merchants who once carried out long-distance trade with Afghanistan and China with valuable goods such as gold and silver embroidery. The haveli took 50 years to build.
Fortify yourself with breakfast and drive to Jodhpur. Famous for its beautiful forts and palaces, Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan and one of the country's top tourist attractions. The city is located on the edge of the Thar Desert.
When you get there, visit Jaswant Thanda, a pillared marble monument to the popular ruler Jaswant Singh II (1878-95). The Jodhpur of the dacoits cleared, established the irrigation systems and promoted the economy.
Afterwards, visit Mehrangarh Fort, which commemorates the spirit of the Rathores, the ruling Rajput clan. Visit the various palaces with their fine friezes and museums displaying treasures belonging to the royal family.
Then you walk to the old town and visit a house in the blue district where a former tour guide (now a widow) lives and gives you the secret of making Indian tea.
Before drinking tea, enjoy the view of illuminated palaces and forts from the roof terrace of the house.
The drive through the Arawali mountains towards Udaipur is magical.
You visit the famous Jain temples. The temple complex with its magical marble sculptures is picturesquely located in a valley of the forested Aravelli Mountains. The main temple includes 1,444 different columns, these marvels of stonemasonry are decorated with delicate plant motifs. You will reach Udaipur in the evening and check-in at the hotel.
An additional night can be at the locations
It is one of the most beautiful cities in Rajasthan. The white palaces, gardens and lakes in Udaipur look like a mirage in the desert. The city has been a source of inspiration for poets, painters and authors since the Middle Ages. The City Palace and the Jagdish Temple, built in the 16th century, are impressive examples of Vishnu depictions.
You will take a boat ride on Lake Pichola. From the water side you have a wonderful view of the palace complex and take a stay at the islands of Jagmandir and Jagniwas. Afterwards, enjoy the lovely Sahelion-ki-Bari garden.
Today your destination is Jaipur. After arrival in Jaipur transfer to the hotel. When you arrive there, you will experience the prayer ceremony in a Hindu temple.
You drive to the Amber Fort. On the way we make a photo stop at the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds). Then go to Amber. You drive to the fortress in jeeps. The audience halls, colonnades, private rooms and palaces are decorated with paintings, mirrors and inlays. The Sheesh Mahal is an impressive building as the single light is enough to illuminate the entire palace.

Over 230 species of birds are known to have made their home in the national park. The park is also an important tourist center, with notes from ornithologists coming here in the winter season. Bharatpur Bird Park was declared a protected sanctuary in 1971. It has also been declared a World Heritage Site.
After breakfast drive to Agra. On the way visit Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 AD.
Akbar Fatehpur Sikri as his capital and the city was fully occupied for 14 years but slowly became abandoned and destroyed after Akbar left the city. Lack of water was the main factor affecting this beautiful city. After the sightseeing, drive to Agra.
After arrival visit Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Taj Mahal is a symbol of love and beauty. This structure was built in 1631 by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal (Arjumand Bano Begum).
The Taj Mahal is made of white marble and the walls are decorated with pitera dura and semi-precious stones. It is called the eighth wonder of the world. (Taj Mahal is closed on Friday)

From the beginning, it was clear that this trip would not be just a regular tour, but a tailor-made experience tailored to our specific wishes. The communication beforehand via Whatsapp was extremely efficient and allowed us to plan every single aspect of our trip in advance. This was especially important as we had specific travel times and start and end points that had to be taken into account. The advantage of a self-guided trip proved invaluable as we were independent of a group and therefore had the flexibility to express and implement our own wishes. The van ride was comfortable and enjoyable and we really appreciated that water and coke were always on board and included in the tour price. The real highlight of our trip, however, was the experience with our tour guide, Piyush. His dedication and passion for his work was second to none. He always went above and beyond the norm to ensure we had the best possible experience. Some examples of his outstanding work are unforgettable: Visiting the Taj Mahal at 9am when there were no queues allowed us to have an uninterrupted view of this fascinating structure. Then in the evening we experienced the magical colors of the Taj Mahal from a distance, which gave us a completely new perspective on this wonder of the world. At the bird park we were assigned a knowledgeable guide, a local who not only knew the area but also had an impressive Zeis zoom telescope. His explanations in German made the tour particularly informative and entertaining. The organization of our safari in Ranthambore was also particularly impressive. Instead of placing us in a crowded bus with many other tourists, Piyush arranged a jeep just for us, which allowed us to observe the wildlife in peace and experience unforgettable moments. Overall we cannot praise Indienreiseleiter.de enough. Their professionalism, attention to detail and ability to turn our dreams into reality made this trip an unforgettable experience. We will definitely use your services again and recommend you to anyone looking for an unforgettable travel experience in India. Thank you IndiaTravelGuide.com and most of all thank you Piyush for unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.VerifiedRonald F2024-04-04Individual trip professionally organized Thank you Piyush for organizing our little trip from Lucknow to Agra. Everything went as planned and was organized professionally. Our vehicle was always ready for us on time and our driver Santosh took us through the wild Indian traffic in a relaxed manner. Special requests such as sightseeing were also accommodated at short notice because you, Piyush, were constantly in contact with us and asked how we were. The processing via a European bank was also very convenient as it saved high transfer costs. It was our first time traveling with you and we will be happy to get in touch with you again next time. We wish you continued success with your companyVerifiedSylvia2024-03-08Tour of Rajasthan I found Mr. Piyush Matur during my research on the Internet. Mr. Piyush started the travel preparations perfectly. So our initial scepticism quickly disappeared and he made us curious about Rajasthan months in advance. When the trip started, our expectations were far exceeded. The tour through Rajasthan was very well organized. We stayed in wonderful palace hotels, visited wonderful buildings and learned a lot about the country and its people. We also had a great guide, Tinku. He spoke very good German and he gave us a great insight into his country. He also immediately responded to our personal wishes and made everything possible, e.g. a spontaneous visit to a brick factory. Mr. Piyush Matur was also in constant contact with us during the trip. We also had a great, comfortable and always sparkling clean car and the driver Denis drove very well and carefully. In short, our Rajasthan trip was something very special. We experienced Rajasthan very intensively. We are overwhelmed and can recommend Piyus Matur Indienreiseleiter.de at any timeVerifiedJohanna H2023-10-30First time in South India and I fell in love with India! After much deliberation, I booked the 18-day trip with India Travel Guide. The time in September, small group and the suggested itinerary appealed to me. The decision to book there exceeded my expectations. The trip was led and organized by Mr. Piyush Mathur, an extremely knowledgeable, German-speaking tour guide who is not only well-versed in history, culture and politics but was also an excellent host and showed us India. Our itinerary took us through the states of Tamil Nandu, Kerala and Karnataka. We were lucky enough to travel in an air-conditioned minibus with cool drinks within easy reach. Our driver was extremely reliable and always brought us safely to our destinations. The highlights of the trip were numerous, including visiting tea plantations, spice complexes, exploring breathtaking palaces and magnificent temples, as well as exciting rickshaw rides. The overnight stay on a houseboat was also particularly impressive. The selection of hostels was also first class. We stayed in charming little hotels hidden in green landscapes. Overall, the tour of South India was an unforgettable adventure. Mr. Mathur and his driver made sure that we felt safe and well looked after. I can fully recommend this trip and am grateful for the wonderful memories that I took home with me. It was an experience that I warmly recommend to every travel lover. I looked at many travel suggestions and decided to book with IndienReiseleiter.de. I was lucky! During my 18-day trip through southern India: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, I was able to see all the highlights and have an unforgettable time. Colorful India with its very interesting temples, lively markets and many other experiences. Our tour guide Piyush Matur planned our trip down to the smallest detail, organized it well and we were always able to check into nice hotels. We immersed ourselves in the colorful world of India, met the local people and learned a lot about culture and handicrafts. We were even able to observe the Asian lion in the national park. If you really want to get to know India, if you want to understand traditions and experience culture, you must plan your trip with India tour guide Piyush Mathur! He leads the group with great experience and empathy, inspires every participant and provides deep insights into this wonderful country. Fantastic!
